AIBA Salutes a Distinguished Industry Leader
As Mr. Shobhan Roy retired from his position as Director General, All India Brewers' Association (AIBA), on 30 June 2026, AIBA expresses its sincere gratitude and appreciation for his outstanding contribution to the Indian beer industry and the broader alcobev sector.
With a remarkable career spanning over five decades — about 43 years in Spirits and the last 13 years exclusively as Director General, AIBA — Mr. Roy has been a respected industry leader, a strong advocate for the brewing sector and a trusted voice in policy and regulatory matters. During his tenure at AIBA, he played a pivotal role in strengthening the Association's engagement with governments, regulators and industry stakeholders across the country.
His commitment to responsible consumption, progressive policy reforms, rational taxation and the sustainable growth of the beer industry has left a lasting impact on the sector. His leadership, wisdom, professionalism and integrity have earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and industry peers alike.
